Colorado Initiative Kicks Off First Ever “Conversations on Aging” Regional Tour
Location: Mountain West Dental Institute

As part of its continued effort to prepare the state for the nearly 68 percent increase of people more than 65 years old by 2030, the State’s Strategic Action Planning Group on Aging (SAPGA) will begin a series of meetings across the state to gather input from local residents responding to, and building on, the Planning Group’s Initial Strategic Action Plan on Aging for Colorado, released this past November. The meetings are open to the public, with a special invitation extended to older adults, caregivers, service providers, elected officials and advocates who work with seniors. The Planning Group seeks opinions, suggestions and guidance on issues facing our aging public that it can use to support local initiatives that improve the lives of seniors in the area.

The Age Well Conference is an annual event for professionals from Colorado’s front range and beyond to meet, learn and discuss ongoing and emerging issues and trends in aging. This year will include three session tracks: Health & Wellness, Tech & Innovation, and Aging in Community, featuring 10 sessions by over a dozen esteemed local and national presenters. New this year, the “experience hall” will feature exhibitors interspersed with interactive and engaging activities for the audience.

Colorado Senior Lobby Citizen Lobbyist Training at the Legislative Services Building
Location for Training: Legislative Services Building – Room LSB-B
Address: 200 East 14th Avenue, Denver
Our Colorado Senior Lobby Citizen Lobbyist Training is “non-partisan citizen lobbyist training” for someone who wants to influence policy and not just discuss policy. The event is at the Legislative Services Building (which is just south of the Capitol) from 10AM to Noon.
But first join us for … Networking & a Tour of the Capitol – 9:00AM to 9:55AM
Drop by the Capitol for networking, a tour and sign up to be a citizen lobbyist — Yes, there is a form from the state!
The Colorado State Capitol – enter on the south side
200 E Colfax Ave, Denver, CO 80203
For networking at 9:00AM, meet in the cafeteria in the basement of The Capitol. You can purchase refreshments, network, and take a tour. Water can be purchased in the cafeteria. We will have handouts for the Citizen Lobbyist Training session. Bring a notebook to take notes at the training and a capped water bottle. We will walk across the street to the Legislative Services Building at 9:55AM.
